Chapter Two Storyboard
Planning the next ten pages
So Chapter One is all finished and published, time to move onto Chapter two. I am kind of flying by the seat of my pants with this book at the moment, I haven’t really planned the story as a whole, apart from a few very vague notions. The way I am doing it at the moment is planning a chapter, drawing the chapter then figuring out where to go from there. Which could be a dangerous way to do things because I could be working on it forever, like all those mangas that have 1000+ chapters.
When I started this project I had the idea that I could leave it as an open ended story that I could continue releasing new adventures and stories, like Tin-Tin or Foot-trot flats, but I’m thinking now I will write it as a complete story arc. These kids need to find their parents, we can’t have them wandering around forever.
Now, to contradict what I wrote a moment ago, I’ve just started plowing into drawing this chapter whilst only planning out the first 10 pages. I got to that point and left it because it’s a bit of a turning point that could lead the story in a bunch of different directions. When I wrote the plan I hadn’t quite decided which direction I wanted to head, but because drawing the pages takes so damn long I figured I could think about it as I drew. This has worked somewhat as I have an idea now but I still need to get in down on paper.
I’ve posted the plan below if you can decipher it, I purposefully do them tiny so I can’t get bogged down in the weeds of too much detail.
Alright, alright, I said first 10 pages and this is only 8, but I could only fit 8 pages into this image so that’s what you’re getting for now.
So to decode this plan for you, in the next chapter the kids will encounter a sunken apartment building with a bunch of teenagers living wild on the roof. They decide to approach the building because they believe it has working electricity. Their hope is that they will be able to use the electricity to charge May’s phone so she can try and make contact with their lost parents.
I’ve started drawing the first few pages of this so I will share them with you soon and hopefully I’ll plan a few more pages too.
That’s it for this update.
Luv ya,
Scott
